The Restless Mind -- Essay

The natural tendency of the mind is to be restless.Thinking seems to be a continuous and ongoing activity

The restless mind lets thoughts come and go incessantly from morning till night. They give us no rest for a moment. Most of these thoughts are not exactly invited, they just come, occupy our attention for a while, and then disappear.Thoughts resemble the waves of the ocean, always in a state of motion, never standing still. These thoughts arise in our mind due to many reasons. There is a tendency on the part of the mind to analyze whatever it contacts. It likes to compare, to reason, and to ask questions. It constantly indulges in these activities.Everyone's mind has a kind of a filter, which allows it to accept, let in certain thoughts, and reject others. This is the reason why some people occupy their minds with thoughts about a certain subject, while others don't even think about the same subject. Why some people are attracted to football and others don't? Why some love and admire a certain singer and others don't? Why some people think incessantly about a certain subject and others never think about it? It is all due to this inner filter. This is an automatic unconscious filter. We never stop and say to certain thoughts come and to others we say go away. It is an automatic activity.the mind is like a thought factory, working in shifts day and night, producing thoughts. The mind also gets thoughts directly from the surrounding world. The space around us is full of thoughts, which we constantly pick, let pass through our minds, and then pick up new ones. It is like catching fish in the ocean, throwing them back into the water and then catching a new ones. This activity of the restless mind occupies our attention all the time.

Now our attention is on this thought and then on another one. We pay a lot of energy and attention to these passing thoughts. Most of them are not important. They just waste our time and energy. It is as if some outside power is always putting a thought in front of us to pay attention to. It is like a relentless boss constantly giving us a job to do. There is no real freedom. We enjoy freedom only when we are able to still the mind and choose our thoughts. There is freedom, when we are able to decide which thought to think and which one to reject. We live in freedom, when we are able to stop the incessant flow of thoughts.

Stopping the flow of thoughts may look infeasible, but constant training and exercising with concentration exercises and meditation, eventually lead to this condition. The mind is like an untamed animal. It can be taught self-discipline and obedience to a higher power. Concentration and meditation show us in a clear and practical manner that we, the inner true essence, are this controlling power.so

We are the bosses of our minds.

I hope you guys like this essay.

Origin of katte – The journey of a tribe

Long long ago so long ago
When sharukh was still not a star
Nirma ,colgate, vicco vajradhanti were the only adds on TV
Lifebuoy was Indian National Soap.
Dwarka used to charge Rs.0.30 for extra chitney
Dolphin and Maruthi were high end cars……………………..

We guys used to meet in a park behind Bhandari Aspathrey to play markothi ata. All Nivedita school “B” section Guys probably 6th or 7th standard.
The members that time were
Sripathy
Sridhara
srinidhi
Idambu kumara
Nithin – nacha, most of the people never knew his name in 1st cross.
Anand
SA
Kirana – katthey kirba and so on

It is this sport loving kids who are the originators of a tribe now called “Katte Boys”. This group continued to meet till they were in Nivedita School and dispersed during high school days as they went to diff schools.

Again this bunch of guys got united @ SKR. All these badmarsh guys were in the same batch except me who was a very sincere and studious guy, without any hard to digest ideas (in the company of pious guys like chik maheshi, srikara and Gokul in first batch @ 5.30 in the morning)

Nachas house was the one point of contact (no mobiles are gadi’s those days) and it was at this point of time hebbar became a member of gang and some old members got separated. It was during this time the tradition assembling in the world famous Kohinoor field started (ABC park) to play talemutso atha and hand tennis. When every body stopped coming (during 10th exams), it was only me and KSP who used to play tennis and later go for a walk and pani puri @ madheva.

It was after 10th when we got into our colleges we started playing cricket and other guys got introduced to the Kohinoor field. Guys like KR, vatsa, villi, nidhi, hemachandra, yogi, mani and others joined during this period.(villi was with Srom Team and mani with Kantha those days)

It was at this point of time, the now called katte had a lot of guys in its gang, including some guthalli and sunkenhalli super ಮ್ಯಾನ್'ಸ

This was the time when we guys got into habits like smoke and enne. Guys its because of these habits we started to sit on a katte in Kohinoor field and that’s how the name Katte Boys.

The katte again expanded when we got into professional courses. It was during this period, sripathy was the manger and controlled the happenings in Katte, he was called parang those days for his peculiar style of bowling.

The habit of going to dabas became more often and enne became the main menu of any treat, which earlier was a panipuri or bakery stuff.
This was the golden era of Katte, I have left some of the characters like S giri, chappaley, santhu , KSP, chottey and others as they were associated with kattey for a very short period of time. But for some events uniquely associated with them, I have to mention their names.

Some of the craziest things were tried, never to forget fights were seen, larger than Mtv fame Bakras were made (cyrus will feel shameful if he hears KR’s, S giri episode). Larger than life ideas were dreamt.
Any problem in the world have a solution, the slang lyrics were in fame, farting was a matter of honour.

The size of kattey and the activities started fading and glorious members went missing as they got into their jobs. At this point of time kattey was guarded by the tri murthis
Sridhara
Madhukara
K.dhara - KR.

Very rarely visited by me, mani, nacha and pathy. I got disengaged with kattey at this point of time due to constraints in my job.

I got associated with kattey again for a trip to Pondicherry, it was during this trip, “picturealli bear kudiyo” VSS got introduced (creater of the Blog).

When hebbav came back from Australia the trimurthis again started meeting in kattey and started the Friday night meeting. But this got some colour when group expanded by the addition of VSS, Sisya, Sadyo, very rarely me, atma and others.

Today the kattey has gone global and brought out the kavi’s in us. Personally I never taught our guys had so much talent to write. More shockingly our guys doesn’t look like
“Asayyananamakkalu”

Let the kattey grow and and its members be remembered for what they are.
VSS is already making his son ready to be a Kattey boy. I am convinced this tribe will be alive in the coming generations to come.

Long live Kattey Boys.

Famous eat outs of kattey, their eating and drinking habits, tours of katte are to be told elaborately and in detail, hence not covered in this post.

third party perspective, an essay

This phrase is used in the corporate world as a tool to resolve issues between individuals. An pretty effective tool to make sure emotional states of individuals do not effect the individual relationships in the company.

This is an effort to understand what this actually means. what is the practical significance of this? Is this a corporate jargon or does it have a significant psychological meaning? can we use this in our personal life?

There are 2 things come out of definition from the corporate world,

1) emotional states of individuals might create issues
2) usage of third party perspective to resolve the issue

Emotion and problems with that:

Emotion can be defined as below, (This is my vice to create my own definitions of terms)

"A mental state of High (Positive Feeling) or Low (Negative Feeling). The effect of the feeling might result in happiness, sorrow, crying, frustration, anger, etc. "

The reasons for emotions are varied and specific to each individual. Children get a high by eating a chocolate, whereas an adult might need alcohol to get an high :-)

When a individual is in a mental state of High, individual is driven by the inertia of positiveness and sees the world around with goggle of positiveness. Without explaining much, I request the reader to think of situations where they were extremely happy. And how they perceived the world during that time of high. Think of scenarios like, the first time you got a cricket bat, you got your dream job, you did something out of complete concentration, etc. These scenarios, took you towards an emotional high which due to its inertia stayed on for a period of time. During that period, everything you saw, make you see the positive side of things.

An Example: To take a simple scenario, In my job profile I had to provide an architecture diagram for a complex business solution. The architecture was for a end to end life cycle of business process which I was not fully aware of. To start with the assignment, I was confused on where to start and where to end. But using the process of breaking the problem to few and solving it piece by piece, I came up with an architecture diagram which was instantly accepted by everybody who saw it. More than anything, I was satisfied with the effort and the out put.
I generally have a good 45 minutes walk home for the sake of health improvement. That day when I delivered the output, I could feel a jump in my walk (this is literal not figurative), I was singing a song very loud without aware of my surroundings, I easily ignored the other irritations in the office. I was on a High!! Everything I saw that day was good!, everyone was good!.

When a individual is in a mental state of Low, individual is driven by the inertia of negativeness and sees the world around with goggle of negativeness. Again I request the reader to think of scenarios where they have gone through this phase. There is so much of negativeness in this world, unfortunately this is a easier scenario to understand. To take an example of an forward email, where an individual fights with his wife for spilling of food on his shirt in the morning, and how he feels bad about traffic, his spoilt car, his inability to buy new car, screwed up boss etc. etc. He completely fails to see the good side of life that day because of the negative inertia.

This inertia of the emotion is what causes problems in life for the individuals. A person seeing the world with goggle of negativeness, sees anything and everything as negative without giving a consideration to the factual nature of the matter. This inertia of negative energy makes the person shout at people while driving, get people depressed seeing the traffic, make people hurt another individual, feel everybody hates me etc. etc. etc.

This inertia of positive energy, brings in foolishness, make a person forgets the compassion towards another individual, etc. etc.

According to Indian philosophy, emotional high or low are not considered to be effective way of experiencing life. Indian philosophy subscribes to the idea of individual being in the mental state of consistency (stitha prgna) to enjoy the Joy of life. This is exactly the median between the High and Low of emotion. I guess, we can call it the opposite of emotion.

Solution:

Whenever an individual is on a emotional high or a low, it is typically a third party which will allow the individual to be pulled out of emotional inertia. There are various types of third party who help us come out of the inertia, The impact of each third party will differ on the proportion of inertia,

Sleep: Typically the lower proportions of inertia is lost over a very good sleep.

Movie/newspaper/life: There are times, when you see a thing, movie, hotel, office, and that provides a perspective which pulls us out of the emotional inertia.

Unknown individual: It so commonly happens that, when we are under emotional inertia. There is this person X, who gives a perspective with such conviction that it makes us think and helps us to get out of the emotional inertia. Wonderful thing is we might not even know that person.

Parents, Friends, Spouse - The people who are close to us are best equipped to give a perspective, which will pull us out of the inertia. The emotional bonding which we have with these individuals, helps us to see the light of the fact removing the negative elements. The Love, compassion, eagerness with which these relations deal with us, is what helps us think differently. It happens so often that, we do a certain mistake (however big the mistake is doesn't matter) and support of our loved ones, pulls us out of the negative inertia. Loads of bollywood movies are made on this subject :-)

Psychologists: Their are this breed of doctors/psychologists who have sessions with patients. Their main job is to listen to the patients thoughts on different subjects. They help the patient by giving a different perspective and help the patients see the light of the fact.

Doctor: Today's doctors have interesting medicine which plays around with the chemical composition of the brain to help us get out of the inertia of emotion. This is only used when the emotional inertia is in the advanced stages. Emotional attachment helps us to do different things, out of blind faith and trust, which typically kicks us out of emotional inertia.

Important fact to note here is, no individual can force another person out of the emotional inertia. Every individual comes out of the emotional inertia with his own efforts. It is just that design of the world, provides him/her opportunities to come out of the emotional inertia.

The best example is, all of us would have seen a fight in the streets because of some stupid problem. And I am sure most of us, would have gone through a similar type of a fight ourselves. But whenever we see it with the role of an observer, we invariably see the childishness and immaturity of the fight. But when we are ourselves involved in the fight, we are in such inertia of the negative mood that, we fail to see the obvious FACTS which we can see as an OBSERVER.

Typically for us to get out of this inertia, we get help from a third party. What third party provides us is, different perspective, which helps us to see the fact of the matter. But if we build this third-party-perspective in ourselves, we can always see the fact of the matter for ourselves without needing any help. This process will take us to "Stitha prgna" state and everlasting joy associated with that.

What is the need for marriage?

It has been quite a while this question has come to my mind. I believe I have found answers to the question, and this is effort to write down my thoughts. The idea is some of the more experienced people will go through the theory and blow holes in it :-), in the process make the theory concrete.

Theory:

Marriage is the only arrangement which satisfies the Emotional and Sexual needs of an individual in combination. Any individual who wants to enjoy the fruits of satisfying these needs (not the only ones though) together needs a marriage.

The theory sees the marriage as a unity between 2 people, without giving any significance to any external entity. Some examples of external entities are society, caste, religion, money, work, etc. etc.

Explanation:

Let me try to explain what I mean by different components of the theory,

Emotional Needs: Most of the individuals, have a emotional need to share happiness, sadness, thoughts, cravings, feelings etc. etc. with mates. The practical spectrum of mates is broad, it can be parents, friends, spouse, relatives, colleagues, neighbors, dog, cats, etc. Though the spectrum is broad, it is very rare that people find 100% emotional compatibility with their mates. But people have learnt to define the percentage of emotional compatibility needed for them to lead their life.

Yes I agree that, there are individuals who do not need have any emotions associated with them. In fact if we live in a "completely conscious state" of mind we will not have any emotions associated with us. This is the state of mind defined as "Sat Chit Ananda" in Indian philosophy. The individuals who have achieved this are, very rare exception individuals who are actually yogis, sadhus, rishis etc.

Sexual Needs: This is one of the the basic needs of which any living being needs to satisfy naturally. There are number ways to satisfy this need, masturbation, sex with individuals (gay, straight, lesbian) etc.

Important point to note is some of the Yogis, Sadhus etc. of the Indian society have an argument against "Sex" being a need. Since I am not knowledgeable enough why? how? they think this way, I agree and say there are exception individuals who do not have sexual need. But from the all the other general people perspective, Sex is a very important need which needs to be satisfied.

Marriage: General definition of marriage would be, "An institution where man and woman live together in a legal way". But if we leave out the specifics, and take the principle, the definition would sound like, "An institution where 2 individuals share their living". I think this is a holistic definition of marriage as an institution. As one can see this definition encapsulates different varieties of relationships like Live-In relationship, Gay/lesbian marriages, extra marital relationship etc.

Putting all these pieces together,

there are "emotional needs" of a being which can be satisfied in many ways.
there are "sexual needs" of a being which can be satisfied in many ways.

Marriage is an institution which satisfies these needs of individuals in a combined way. To put it the other way, the pleasure of combined satisfaction of these two needs is what makes an individual need marriage.

Although these are not the only needs of any individual, these needs stand on top in the need hierarchy with respect to marriage.

Unfortunately theories like this can be proved only through hypothesis, rather than based on actual data. I have tried to list some of the practical scenarios and see how it maps to the theory ,

Scenario 1: 2 individuals in marriage with dis-functional sex life - These individuals will be categorized as friends living together rather than a married couple.

Scenario 2: 2 individuals in marriage with functional sex life, but emotional disconnect - This would map to one individual having sex with a professional sex worker or an individual being subjected to rape.

Scenario 3: 2 individuals married for 3 years and divorced due to incompatibility - This would map to the scenario where there was a satisfaction of emotional and sexual needs for 3 years. But over a period of time, emotional needs of one or/and both individuals changed to irreconcilable levels.

Scenario 4: One person is married and has affair running with another individual - This person has found the emotional/sexual need satisfaction with another individual rather than a legal spouse.

Most of the scenarios I believe justifies the theory in a concrete way.

Reason for writing Conclusion:

After writing the theory, explanation, my own doubts on the article not explaining the theory in a conclusive way, reading all the comments from dear ones. I started off with an idea of changing the original article, I couldn't continue doing it. The reason is, it is an attempt to provide a structure to the relationship. Though it is a failure for now, I am satisfied with an attempt and want to cherish the attempt for future. I certainly want to re-look at this whole attempt in the future and want to provide a conclusive structure to the theory.

I thought it is good time to close the article with a conclusion with my current thoughts.

Conclusion:

The reason/need for any relationship to happen has multiple facets to it. For example, money, love, intellectual match, emotional attachment, sex, proximity, interests, etc. The list will go on and on, and is not a easy task to list all the factors. Each one of us can see all these factors working in various proportions in our relationship with, friends, family, etc. Influence of these factors on an individual is defined by things like, upbringing, knowledge, genes, etc.

I believe, these factors can be categorized into mutually exclusive buckets and the general trend in the human thinking can be captured across these buckets.

Relating the above to the question, the reason/need for the effective working of a relationship called as marriage. All these factors still form a part of the relationship. Every individual will decide for himself/herself/itself what proportion of each factor is needed for the marriage to happen and work.

It occurred to me that, "Emotional Need" and "Sexual Need" are the important factors which makes the marriage work (Not the only ones) and hence becomes the need. And the pleasure associated with both of them is unique for marriage. The failure of the article is because, the article doesn't explain "Why" and "How" these factors are important in comparison to others. In fact article didn't even list the others. At this point in time I beleive I do not have enough logic, data, thoughts to explain how it is important for general people. My attempt would be understand those reasons clearly in the future.

But I can confidently say, these 2 factors together stands as high priority for me. These are the needs "I" need to fulfill to get into the institution of marriage successfully. And my efforts will be to find continuously improving mix of both these factors.

Out of box thinking !

Employee "A" in a company walked up to his manager and asked what my job is for the day?
The manager took "A" to the bank of a river and asked him to cross the river and reach the other side of the bank.
"A" completed this task successfully and reported back to the manager about the completion of the task assigned. The manager smiled and said "GOOD JOB"

Next day Employee "B" reported to the same manager and asked him the job for the day. The manager assigned the same task as above to this person also.
The Employee "B' before starting the task saw Employee "C" struggling in the river to reach the other side of the bank. He realized "C" has the same task.
Now "B" not only crossed the river but also helped "C" to cross the river.
"B" reported back to the manager and the manager smiled and said "VERY GOOD JOB"

The following day Employee "Q" reported to the same manager and asked him the job for the day. The manager assigned the same task again.
Employee "Q" before starting the work did some home work and realized "A", "B" & "C" all has done this task before. He met them and understood how they performed.
He realized that there is a need for a guide and training for doing this task.
He sat first and wrote down the procedure for crossing the river, he documented the common mistakes people made, and tricks to do the task efficiently and effortlessly.
Using the methodology he had written down he crossed the river and reported back to the manager along with documented procedure and training material.
The manger said "Q" you have done an "EXCELLENT JOB".

The following day Employee "O' reported to the manager and asked him the job for the day. The manager assigned the same task again.
"O" studied the procedure written down by "Q" and sat and thought about the whole task.
He realized company is spending lot of money in getting this task completed. He decided not to cross the river, but sat and designed and implemented a bridge across the river and went back to his manager and said, "You no longer need to assign this task to any one".
The manager smiled and said "Outstanding job 'O'. I am very proud of you."
What is the difference between A, B, Q & O????????
Many a times in life we get tasks to be done at home, at office, at play….,
Most of us end up doing what is expected out of us. Do we feel happy? Most probably yes. We would be often disappointed when the recognition is not meeting our expectation.

Let us compare ourselves with "B". Helping some one else the problem often improves our own skills. There is an old proverb (I do not know the author) "learn to teach and teach to learn". From a company point of view "B" has demonstrated much better skills than "A" since one more task for the company is completed.

"Q" created knowledge base for the team. More often than not, we do the task assigned to us without checking history. Learning from other's mistake is the best way to improve efficiency. This knowledge creation for the team is of immense help. Re-usability reduces cost there by increases productivity of the team. "Q" demonstrated good "team-player" skills,

Now to the outstanding person, "O" made the task irrelevant; he created a Permanent Asset to the team.
If you notice B, Q and O all have demonstrated "team performance" over an above individual performance; also they have demonstrated a very invaluable characteristic known as "INITIATIVE".

Initiative pays of every where whether at work or at personal life. If you put initiative you will succeed. Initiative is a continual process and it never ends. This is because this year's achievement is next year's task. You cannot use the same success story every year.
The story provides an instance of performance, where as measurement needs to be spread across at least 6-12 months. Consequently performance should be consistent and evenly spread.
Out-of-Box thinkers are always premium and that is what every one constantly looks out for. Initiative, Out-of-Box thinking and commitment are the stepping stone to success.
Initiative should be life long. Think of out of the box.

Keep Walking!

Keep Walking!

In the last few years I have religiously preceded my signature with the closing phrase ‘Keep Walking!’ All good things are worth replicating and I felt no shame in stealing this idiom from my professor during my MBA days. The reader is pardoned to believe that my inspiration has been the punch line from a prominent scotch brand. People who know me may even believe that this is my show of affection towards my favorite vice. Drinking!

I seldom put things into use the moment I pick it up. I toyed with the idea for a couple of years after my theft trying to understand the full meaning of the phrase that I so instantly liked. It came to me little by little like a flirtatious teenager but never submitting itself completely. Even today I found a new meaning to the phrase.

We live in a very plural world. Be it at home, office or in transit we function as a pack of individuals and hence our need to communicate. However communication is more often than not from one to oneself. Advice is as much self assurance to the advisor as it is to the benefit of the advisee. Keep Walking is applicable to both the person I address and to myself and all in between. Metaphorically and at a high level it means ‘keep going’ towards your goal and as they are achieved proceed towards new ones.

However at a day to day level it brings in a whole new meaning; it’s the war cry during extreme opposition and when you know you are right; it’s a trendsetter for innovativeness; it’s the pace at which a test batsman takes on an innings; it’s the commitment of the believer; it’s the expectation of the lover; it’s the karma of the yogi;

Some of my efficiency centric friends have suggested why not ‘Keep Running!’ Physically walking comes more naturally to us than running. ‘Walking’ assumes a constant direction but the pace may change adapting to the features and challenges thrown at you. The answer is it’s more about consistency than speed, hence the word ‘Keep’. It’s about visionary revolution than juvenile sporadic rebellion. It’s about long term relationships than one night stands. It’s about repetitive continuous improvement which our business schools preach. And finally the exclamation mark’!’ It’s a symbol of assertiveness. The exclamation is an outcry to awaken others and the one within.

I am aware on the eulogizing attempt here of a simple phrase. But as a husband, son, boss, peer and friend this mantra has helped me become a better person. I provide less room for distractions and I can feel people around me being more focused. Keep Walking is no more just a closing statement or a motto to live with. It has served more than its purpose. Keep Walking has become an integral part of my personality and I am sure has touched a chord with all those it has made contact.

Keep Walking!

Whats there with a Horse's ass?...

The U.S. standard railroad gauge (distance between the rails) is 4 feet, 8.5 inches. Sort of an odd number, but there’s a reason for it. That’s the way they built them in England, and English expatriates built the first U.S. railroads.
But why like that? Because the first rail lines were built by the same people who built the pre-railroad roads, and that’s the gauge they used. But why did they use that gauge then? Because the people who built the first roads used the same jigs and tools that they used for building wagons, which used that wheel spacing.
But why that particular wheel spacing? Well, if they tried to use any other spacing, the wagon wheels would break on some of the old long-distance roads in England, because that’s the spacing of the wheel ruts.
So who built those old rutted roads? Imperial Rome built the first long-distance roads in Europe (and England) for their legions. The roads have been used ever since.
And the ruts in the roads? Roman war chariots formed the initial ruts, which everyone else had to match for fear of destroying their own wagon wheels. Since the chariots were made for Imperial Rome, they were all alike in the matter of wheel spacing. Therefore the United States standard railroad gauge of 4 feet, 8.5 inches is derived from the original specifications for an Imperial Roman war chariot. Bureaucracies live forever.
So the next time you are handed a Specification/Procedure/Process pamphlet and wonder “What horse’s ass came up with this?”, you may be exactly right. Imperial Roman army chariots were made just wide enough to accommodate the rear ends of two war horses (actually, two horses’ asses). Now, then, another twist to the story.
When you see a Space Shuttle sitting on its launch pad, there are two big booster rockets attached to the sides of the main fuel tank. These are solid fuel rocket boosters (or, SRBs). The SRBs afre made by Thiokol at their factory in Utah. The engineers who designed the SRBs would have preferred to make them a bit fatter, but the SRBs had to be shipped by train from the factory to the launch site.
The railroad line from the factory happens to run through a tunnel in the mountains, and the SRBs had to fit through that tunnel. The tunnel is slightly wider than the railroad truck, and the railroad track, as you now know, is about as wide as two horses’ behinds.
So, a major Space Shuttle design feature of what is arguably the world’s most advanced transportation system was determined over two thousand years ago by the width of a couple of horses’ asses. And you thought being a horse’s ass wasn’t important? Ancient horses’ asses control almost everything…..and current horse’s asses are controlling everything else.

Bisi Bele Bath, an essay

Bisi Bele Bath is mouth watering delicacy, typically prepared in the south Karnataka region. Not to say, only prepared here, but this full-of-wonder delicacy originated from south Karnataka region. The delicacy because of its mouth watering powers has moved away from the origin and can now be seen around in all corners of the world.

The literal translation of the name would sound something like “Hot lentil cooked mix”. For westerners and easterners (meaning to the east of India, people live there also.), who probably thought this some kind of a “Bath” as in “the daily activity of watering our body”. It is not!!! This “bath” is a Kannada term which means some sort of a “cooked mix”.

As the name suggests, the dish has to be served hot and savoured hot in a hot afternoon of summer to appreciate the finest elements of the dish. Bisi Bele Bath is made by cooking rice, lentils, some vegetables (any) with a very special masala (grinded mixture of spices) all at one go. Yeah!! All at one go. It just doesn’t sound simplistic explanation of how it is made, It is that simple. Even the spices used are very easily obtained and the masala can be prepared quickly.

It seems, Bisi Bele Bath was invented for the purpose of what cooks term as “Quickie”. Whenever a cook, (for those guys who are thinking house wives, think modern!) doesn’t want to put effort to prepare a dish. He just puts everything in a vessel and cooks Bisi Bele Bath. Simple!!!

No! No! No! Never get disappointed and say, “Oh! This is another quickie, I have seen them all”. No mates, this is what makes the dish special. Though it’s a quickie, the “balance of spices” and the mix, is so special that any person in the world will invariably love this. This provides such a height of sensual pleasure while eating, which can just be equalled by another well known quickie.

Bisi Bele Bath is one of the rare dishes, which touches the sensitive spots of all the pleasure points of the body. To explain a few,

Tongue: The mix of masala, rice, vegetables and lentils creates a bubbling water effect on the tongue. The chemical composition of masala is such that, the taste mixes with the liquid in the tongue and stays mixed for atleast 2 hours. This is unless, you do not do the stupidity of drinking coffee in between.

Nose, eyes, skin: The hot (as in hot) and hot (as in spicy) Bisi Bele Bath, typically creates an effect at the bottom of the nose. This in turn, runs water down the nose. The effect is also transported to eyes, which makes them water as well. The same effect is also reflected to the roots of the skin cells. This pushes the skin to water as well. This well rounded watering of all senses in the face is typical of good “Bisi Bele Bath”. Some of the blessed souls even say “No other dish creates this effect” and twirl there tongue in a funny way. The learned and knowledgeable seers have termed this as "Bisi Bele Bath" effect. It seems, the whole seer community of the ancient India couldn't relate the effect to anything else, and hence decided to name the effect after its creator.

Ears: The hot and hot spice effect is also propagated to ears. This increases the blood flow to the ears, and creates a pleasure paralleled by only one other activity under the sun.

For getting the best pleasure, Bisi Bele Bath needs to be had on a hot summer day in tropical climate. For the best effects, Bisi Bele Bath should always be had with minimum of one Spoonful of ghee sprinkled on the dish.

You might be already thinking! (If not? Start thinking now.) Where do you get this wonderful sensual stuff? Where you get good Bisi Bele Bath depends on the place, caste, religion, age, energy, money etc. etc. For the benefit of the general people, will try to explain the hierarchy of the best Bisi Bele Baths.

Top 1: Madhava Brahmin, a sub-sect in the Brahmin caste is uniquely known in this world for there ability to cook mouth watering Bisi Bele Bath. The cooks of the Madhava Mutts (sub-sub-sect grouping area) have the best balanced recipe of this delicacy. It has been kept as the best secret in the Mutts from time immemorable. Needless to say further, go find a friend who is Madhava Brahmin and force him to celebrate any occasion in the Mutt.

Top 2: Mavalli Tiffin Room, MTR, which is restaurant, has the next best Bisi Bele Bath in the world. If you start thinking, oh! A restaurant, an easy find. Guess what? It is not an easy thing to get an after seat for lunch in this restaurant. But the knower will always say, "for Bisi Bele Bath, any amount of hard ship you go through is worth the effort".

Top 3: Any restaurant/fast food in the south Bangalore area would be provide you with a very standard Bisi Bele Bath.

Top 4: Get yourself invited for lunch in any of the “Karnataka” family. Its worth to have a friend just for Bisi Bele Bath.

Top 5: Ready made mix of MTR brand Bisi Bele Bath is available in most general stores in India and all Indian stores abroad. You just need to micro-wave it for having the delicacy.

Heil the pleasure of Bisi Bele Bath!!! Long Live Bisi Bele Bath.

Peanuts are better than...(short story)

One fine day Sisya approached Guruji with a professional problem. Sisya was the great IT professional, his work involved Java programming and all that great stuff. Yes! Google was his programming companion, like it is for most of silicon city programmers. That day he was upset and decided to get some eternal answers from Guruji for earthly problems.

Sisya asked Guru, 'Guruji, I am doing the most difficult job with all brilliance, I believe I am next to Bill Gates and Scott Adams, but I am being paid peanuts!!!'

Sisya has asked very important, highly ethical and moral question. Guruji looked in the direction of America and then in the direction of Japan, North and south. Threw his dices, calculated position of stars. Solved complicated equations of order 10.  Lot of labor. At last Guruji's faced brightened with enlightenment.

Then Guruji poured his wisdom on Sisya with great calmness,

Sisya, peanuts are better than pink slips!'

Sisya lived happily ever after in silicon city!!!

Caste System, an essay

Caste system has been very integral part of the every Indian's thinking from time immemorial. There have been lot of arguments about the importance and impact of "Caste System" on the society. Most (so called) modernist individuals say, "Caste system was bad" and identify that as the root cause for most of the flaws in our society today. Most (so called) UN-modernistic individuals who still stick by it, just follow the system without commenting on the Good/Bad impacts of the system on the society.

The reasons why, certain section of society stick by caste system and certain section are dead against is the matter for a volumes of books. This is just an essay and certainly will not delve into the details of the good/bad of the society.

Disclaimer:

The author has not read/researched the volumes and volumes of content available on this subject. The thoughts mentioned in this essay are purely coming from the life as seen by the author. The essay is theory of the author and might not have any practical relevance/significance to life.

Any individual offended by the thoughts are requested to scold the author for his stupidity (for that matter any characterstic) and ignore the bad feeling.

History:

In the Pre-historic era the primitive individuals living in the Indian sub-continent faced a challenge with increasing population of their Tribe. To define the era, this was exactly during the time when primitive humans grouped together and moved from hunting to agriculture to earn there food.

How do we efficiently structure our people in the tribe to efficiently lead life?
How do we get the best out of people?

These are the sort of questions which arose in some Pre-historic minds. Some of the intelligent or probably "important people" created a committee of members from all sections of society to find a solution. This committee after various deliberations with arguments and "counter arguments" came up with a solution. Solution was more of a efficient way to segregate the society to improve the productivity of the Tribe as a whole. (Can be equated to organisation restructure in corporate world).

The solution was called "Caste System". The objective was to "increase the productivity of the tribe"

Shudra - People who would do physical labour to generate food for Tribe
Vaishya - People who would do commerce/trading and manage the resources of the Tribe
Kshatriya - People who would maintain the safety of the Tribe
Brahmana - People who would gain and spread knowledge across the Tribe

This committee of elite members also created a set of guidelines to maintain the segregation and to increase the maintainability of the Caste System.

There should be inter-breeding in each Caste: Keeps the focus of the whole family on the goal. Will help in continuous knowledge sharing and improvement (CMM Level 5) from "Grand Parents" to "Parents" to "Individual" to "Offspring" as a tree.

Each Caste will live in as a group in settlement: This will help the effective communication/learning in the group. Will help in coming up with efficient society processes to reach the goal.

Brahmins have to get there food through begging: Since this is the group concentrated on knowledge. People had questions on how will they earn their food? The concept of alms was introduced so that each brahmin doesn't have to worry about mundane things like food/shelter when they have to go in search of knowledge.

.................... and more and more guidelines were put in place to increase the effectiveness of the system.

As the time passed, people in the neighbouring tribes identified that, "This tribe with Caste System was working very effectively".

There security was the best.
They produced more food.
They had invented new and easy way to do things.
They had more money.
The individuals in the group are happy.
Very less in-fighting between members of the tribe
etc..etc..

It is just that, all the benefits of efficient use of resources are easily visible to everybody else easily. Though MBA's probably can explain the concept in a better way, people do not need MBA to understand such simple principle (focus).

Moving from Pre-historic to historic era. The caste system was widely popular structure, most of Indian sun-continent adapted the system according to the nuances of there group. As the life became more complicated with increase in population, new inventions, etc... The intelligent breed of the historic people, broke the Caste System to different Sub-Castes and new castes got created.

For E.g. people who make ornaments, people who work with wood and make equipments, people who work with metals, people who cook, people involved in different art forms, etc..etc.. All the above were groups identified, either as a caste or a sub-caste. The principle of grouping remained the same, "Increase in productivity through focus". Effective knowledge sharing etc. etc.

Like any process or system implemented, there were individuals and groups who have mis-used the system. There would be volumes of paper available on "how caste system was mis-used?" subject. This essay will not delve into this subject because of loads of material available. A point to note that, various groups have increased the value of Caste System also, by adapting the system effectively to different environments.

Indian Sub-Continent was the most sought after destination for people across the world and was a economic super power during the historic times. It was world leader in science, astronomy, astrology, arts, music etc. etc. One of the important factors probably was because of the efficient structuring of the society through the "Caste System".

This is the History of the "Caste System"!!!

Caste System Today:

With the rapid industrialisation of the world, the modern human society has become more complex. The type of professions have increased and population has also increased at a very good rate. And within the Indian environment, though there is "Caste System" concept which still exists. But the basic principles of the caste system has been long lost. Probably, rapid changes in the society which occurred due to industrialisation, was not adapted into Caste System effectively.

Today, structure of the society has moved from "Work" base to another complex base called as "Money". To explain, the grouping of the people is more derived from the "Amount of Money" individuals have rather than what work they do. "Work" base grouping though exists a little, has a very less significance in today's world.

Without going into too much of mind taxing why? what? how? questions, let us try to ask, what would have been the different flavours of caste in today's world?

The answers are startling!!!!

Police: Very aggressive group of individuals, characterised by, use of foul language, abusive individuals, corruption, pot belly, decent money, etc..etc.. Typically can be seen every where. There is a big conspiracy theory saying, Police are actually "Kali Yuga" messengers of God. Some of the Sub-Castes belonging to this are "Traffic Police", "Crime Police", "Constable", "Inspector" etc..

Software Engineers: Very stupid group of individuals who think, they are intelligent just because, some companies pay them more salary compared to other professions. Characterised by, branded cloths, big jargon's, colorful hair, air of confidence (coming out of ignorance?), Funny accent, ignorance of any language, etc..etc..etc.. Typically can be seen around fancy hotels, shopping malls, and funny resorts called as offices. Sub-Castes are, "Java", "Support Engineers", "Microsoft", "Project Managers" etc..

Politicians: Funny group of individuals, who act in this big entertainment show called as democracy. Always can be seen in idiot box in multiple channels. Characterised by, Big pot bellies (bigger than Police), funny smile, stupid smile, tired smile, these guys can smile in whatever situation, Ultra rich lifestyle, big cars, white cloths, big talks, stupid talks, intelligently stupid talks... oh! these guys can talk on anything and everything under the sun. Typically can be seen around, police stations, courts, in TV etc.. No Sub-Castes. Very solid group of individuals, with very similar principles and work ethics. (You know what :-))

Auto Drivers: Very irritated group of individuals who are always irritated with god knows what! :( Characterized by, mouth fights, foul words, extra meter charges, never come to where they are requested to come to etc.. etc... Typically can be seen around everywhere smoking bidi, cigarettes in road corner.

there would have been other castes also, please do not worry if your caste is not included in the list. It is just that I, the author, is so lazy that I can't put effort on research. It would have been interesting to see, with this structure, if the efficiency of the society would have increased? Unfortunately, modern humans do not have the opportunity.

Coming back the factual world, though "Money" still rules the structuring of the groups in modern human society, but, principles of "grouping on work" basis is still in practice. For example, an software engineer would generally chose a software engineer as a life partner/friend. Auto drivers generally hang out together in a group. Politicians live as a segregated part of the society.

Probably "Work" base gives an intellectual-match for the people to have a bonding with each other. or probably there is something else? Probably "Money" based grouping is the most approriate for modern humans. Probably there is completely different "base" which will arrise out of ever evolving human mind.

Something for the modern humans to group together and think on.

Childrens Day

A Happy Children's day to one and all!!

Is Children's day only for Children? is it not for us so called adults?

We might be generally called as Adults, but I believe true katte boys are really "Children" :-) Other than the physical element of "age" are there any other characterstics to define Children?

my thoughts on characteristics of children which are NOT RELATED to AGE factor are

Children are always happy.
Children do not worry about future.
Children know how to ignore past.
Children has very less care/attachment for worldly things.
Children are bubbly and full of energy.
Children Play.
Children Learn.
Children spread happiness around.
Children do not understand/believe societies rules.
Children make there own rules.

Not sure if this concludes the list, but I guess I got bored listing the characterestics :-).. Let me stop here and say, guys do you thing these characterstics possible for us to have? For me it is a big YES, YES, YES.. We can and should have all these characterstics to be called "True Katte Boyz" ....

But thinking more, for what, under the sun, have we lost some of this characterstics? I believe we must be really crazy to have lost some of these good characterstics. This writing is about, trying to understand how and why we lost it.

Some of the obvious reasons which come to my mind are ,

When we were children, we didn't have responsibilities. But as we grew we were pushed towards the grind of the society, which made us think towards "How to Live Life".

After writing the above line, I just went back (Scrolled up to be precise :-) ) and saw the characterstics again. That is when I realised what big Crap I had been writing. We had responsibilities when we were children. We were supposed to go to school, study, get good marks and all that crap. But did that stop us from enjoying our time? Guess what.? Big NOOOoooo!!! We balanced, the societes needs and our own needs so wonderfully well with a single goal of enjoying life!!!

I now think the biggest lie which we tell to ourselves is, "We have got more responsibility now"..

I think the reason is more of, "we have forgotten how to balance our needs". We are such big LOOSER'S that we have forgotten ways to enjoy life...

While having my lunch I was still pondering how do we bring balance... It just happened that, the below example came to my mind, (I was lucky to have a conversaiton with a colleague on this just a week back)

We have all played cricket during our kid days. It was more of a very normal activity was to play cricket everyday. Relating to the thoughts above, we always had different types of constraints to play cricket. The reasons were big to kid standards, Parents not well-off to buy stuff, not enough friends, not a field near house etc. etc..

Constraint: We didn't have a bat
Solution: We would create a bat out of a piece of wood, bark of coconut tree, the examination cardboard (famously called as RUT :-) remember guys?) ... at the end of the day anything strong enough to hit a ball would do. If nothing else we converted our Hand to Bat and played Hand Cricket. right?

Constraint: We didn't have enough members to play a game
Solutions: We played box cricket, we played one sided game (only offside runs only), we didn't have runs on backside, we always created our own rules according to the place, people etc. We always made the game competitive. We played on road, galli, field, house garden.. where not? what not?

If all the above were not there, we played Tennis. We played Lawn tennis in a junk field with Hands. We played table tennis without a table. We created our own tennis called Box tennis. If more people, then created our own rules and played "Not Named" tennis. Nothing was a constraint. At the end of the day we played and we enjoyed. In summer we played cricket in the house, with a ball made of small cloths put in socks. :-)

If a westerner sees the variety of the cricket we have played, he might get psyched out I guess :-) but who knows, they might have different varieties.

guys, I think the key thing above is, we knew how to ADAPT to scenarios thrown by the world. We always adapted with the Single goal of "Enjoying Life".

If I consider the same scenario today, we have stopped ADAPTING and started whining, cribbing. We whine and crib about office, boss, colleagues, family, traffic, cricket team, football team (is there one?) and oh! how can I forget the biggest target of all "Our wonderful political system and government." These are all facts of life, how can we even crib about this?

These are as big a facts as "My parents didn't buy me a cricket bat". Don't you think so?

On the contrary inspite of all the constraints we had when we were physically children, "we never cribbed", "we never whined".. We just went on living and enjoying life. In short we did good "Timepass" :-) (How can I NOT bring this phrase into context :-) )

Guys, at this point I am not sure, how and why we lost track. If I could think of why, I promise to update this article. Please provide your thoughts also on this.

Though through out the article I sound like, "we have lost all". I guess the scenario is not that bad afterall :-) all of us still have some of the characterstics of the children in us, this is what keeps us going. Else, we would have been in a mental hospital by now :-) . It is just that, I was thinking, how beautiful our life will be if we had all the characterstics of children.

To end the article key thing we need to learn is to "Learn to Adapt to Scenarios". Just like we were in our child hood days. We just need to re-learn how to "Timepass" and we will become true katte boyz.

Makkala dinacharaneya Shubhashayagalu

A very happy children's day to everyone.

I wish to pass a message to everyone on this occasion. There is a saying which is "We do not inherit the Earth from our ancestors: we borrow it from our children" . This carries a lot of depth. We DO NOT have any rights to spoil the environment around us. We have to protect and preserve the environment so that future generations also enjoy the warmth of mother nature.

Let the Mountains talk..Don't break the mountains in the name of mining and quarrying..
Let the Rivers flow..Don't pollute the rivers and dump waste into them..
Let the Trees dance..Don't chop them off for unwanted purposes..
Let the Forests sing...Don't clear the forests for habitation purpose..
Let the Animals live..Don't encroach their habitat and kill them for their skin..

Live and let live..Plant a tree on every occasion possible.

Famous katte episodes ! katte katte katte (read it in the tune of muktha muktha muktha)

Famous Katte Episodes
-----------------------
1) Trouble at Dhaba
2) S G episode
3) Ane mari fights for Justice

Just like V Seetaram's Muktha Muktha, if I direct a serial called "Katte", probably will be a big hit. I am trying to bring back some old memories for katte members, some pleasant and funny and some unpleasant (but who cares now! it’s long gone)

Episode 1 - Trouble at Dhaba
----------------------------
It all started when the Katte gang went to Dhaba as team building activity (or to show universal brotherhood?). The idea behind the activity was that we all play together for couple hours and disperse to home. But we wanted to go together to some Dhaba, have "soft" drinks and eat some rotis together. One fine day, we left for Dhaba..Nearly 20 of us or perhaps even few more than 20 people. We had lot of "soft" drinks and finally landed in one dhaba at kanakapura road.
Everything was going fine and people were enjoying and suddenly galata started between some katte members and some other members of a different troupe who had come to Dhaba. Ofcourse katte members know how it started, and how it ended..But this incident made the katte members realize what type of members Katte had..An episode never to be forgotten..

Episode 2 - S G episode
-----------------------------
We would rather not discuss this topic and cause any more embarassment to the Ex katte member. The prominent actors of this episode are S G, Ane mari and Kair. lol..I cant control laughter remembering this episode..

Episode 3 - Ane mari fights for Justice
---------------------------------------
Katte had 2 grounds..One a big ground where we improved our cricket, aspiring to get selected for Indian cricket team. The second was a small ground adjacent (you can call it practice ground) wherein kids used to play with dads. It so happened that for some reason we came back to practice mode and started playing boundary cricket rather than playing international cricket. We used to play in the small ground which I just explained above. Some padde hudugaru were playing some mischief all the time when we were playing. As we all know that ane mari is a cricketer who concentrates on the game completely. So he was getting distracted by the mischief done by padde gang. He immediately caught hold of some padde nan maga doing mischief and hit him left and right. Also he had the daring and audacity to continue to play and not run away fearing of any backlash of his actions of hitting a padde boy. Immediately some big padde boy was summoned by the mischief gang. He hit ananda to the blues. To be very honest only Ane mari could have taken those blows..if it was me or any other person, probably would have broken most of the bones. After taking the blows ane mari resolved all the issues with the other gang and made friends with them..See this is the speciality of Katte boys and special katte boy like ane mari..Hail Ane !

There are few more interesting episodes like,
One katte boy chasing another katte boy in Keshava's thread ceremony function, then a katte doctor listening to abusive words from other paddes in katte and last but not the least few more episodes which involve dosey making after having "soft" drinks are also there...

Rest in next..

ಆರ್ಟ್ ಆಫ್ ಬಾಡಿ ಬಿಲ್ಡಿಂಗ್

A lil background on Katte and members

namaskara, namaskara, namaskara..Naanu ivatu katte kathe baratha idini kandri..Odri, odi anandisiri..

I am Ex katte president. or rather Manager (as people like to call me).Probably from start of 1993 to 2000. Yeah!, 7 years. I was managing all the funds and arranged the logistics (tennis ball, bats, wickets etc). I had the distinction of never mismanaging the funds ! ;-). You wonder where the funds came from? We called it "Team fees”. This is the amount that all the katte members had to pay on a monthly basis to be part of katte. The monthly fee was 20 rupees.

Many people might be wondering, what did we do in katte? A more appropriate question would be "What did we not do in Katte"?

We played cricket, watches movies, eat together, sat together to discuss problems of the world, went to different places together etc etc.. We played cricket due to which the katte members grew. There were nearly 30 members at one time. That was the peak membership period of Katte and you can imagine being manager how efficiently I managed katte and its funds.

Lets talk more about cricket first..Ofcourse Katte had its own "Unique" rules for cricket...

1) Debar - Any bowler who bowls more than 4 wide balls per over will not be allowed to bowl in that entire match. Also another bowler has to start that over from start. The most debarred bowler is Nitin, who is no more part of Katte now ( his membership is revoked due to inactivity). Many controversies have erupted due to this rule in the past.

2) Backside no run - Any batsmen who hits the ball at the back of the stumps cannot claim any runs.

3) Boundary out - Any batsmen who hits the ball to the east or west of the pitch out of the ground is out. Since katte cricket ground was long anough and not wide enough, this rule made sense.

The other activities we did at Katte, we sat in the katte and discussed the problems of the world and did nothing about it. The predominant katte members are ,

1) Keshava (kr,devil, and now called as katte keshava raya) - His has the disctinction of bringing new ideas and new activites to katte. He has introduced so many "noble" activities that I cannot write in this blog. But he is still he champ. He still feels 23 yrs old young in mind..

2) Atmaram (Dr Aimaram, kacher, side arm bowler/thrower) - This member was away from katte and has rejoined only few months back. He is a good katte member.

3) Srivatsa (vatsa, srilml) - voluntarily retired from katte membership after marriage.

4) Sripathi - Nothing to say about myself. Still a promonent katte member..

5) Sridhara (vidura, jali, steve waugh, slow motion) - His membership has been revoked from katte due to inactivity. He was a good cricket player..

6) Nitin (nacha, succkk iitt) - The most controversial player of katte.

7) Yogi (devarmaney abhimanigale, hogi, hogesh) - He used to come to Katte in Ferrari. He supposedly called himself a fast bowler, but bowled slower than a spinner.

8) Madhukar hebbar (goodri, goobey, hebbar) - A prominent katte member and is continuing the same till today. A good bowler.

9) Ananda (ane mari, sondlu) - A good cricket player..has bowled more wide balls than normal..

10) Mani (mani) - He had a lot of stories to tell in katte.

To be continued..

Dream Big (Short Story)

He is a world famous motivational speaker. He charges lakhs of rupees per session. Only influential people like CEOs and big entrepreneurs get a  chance to attend his session. You get a chance to attend his sessions only with recommendation, if you don't belong to the elite circle of the society. With lot of difficulty I got chance to attend his session. Theme was something like 'Dream Big'.

Session was effective. I decided to break all barriers in thinking. I decided to dream big and think big.

Now I eat bigger burgers and pizzas and drink bigger colas and of course! bigger bottle of wine!

Thought For the day : Time

You cannot step in the same river twice.  - Heraclitus

Because river flows continuously and change is irreversible. During the interval river changes and you too. I would like to view time as a river. 'Kaala Pravaha'. Coming to time pass. It is not you who is doing the time pass. Time is passing as usual in an irrevisible way, whether you like it or not, you enjoy or suffer, you doing something meaningful or not,

Timepass, an Essay

Lot of people in this world will say, this is an English world. But guess what? It is not. Surprising?

Some of the people who are very particular about grammar correctness will say, this is an English phrase. Which if correct, would be written as "Time Pass". But no I think, this is also not correct. With whatever little interactions I have had with English speaking people and whatever books I have read till today. I have never seen this phrase getting used in practice. What I have seen is, most of the people of English speaking nations would not understand this term, when we (Indians) use this practice. It takes them a while to realize what we are trying to communicate.

With all the above facts, I started getting really wonderfully confused in life about what is the origin of this term. This is where I stopped thinking about the origin. As I realized I am not a linguist and I need to put in huge amount of research effort to understand. Which as any logical lazy being, I rejected the urge to understand.

Because of all the above thoughts, I have more or less decided that this term is purely "Indian".

Friends, if you are wondering what is this guy up to? Do not worry, this is not an essay about how we Indians use Engligh our own way (I don't give a damn actually). This is not even an essay about understanding words and using it. This is an humble effort by me, to define the term Timepass and to understand the importance of this word in this Universe.

To delve into this subject, I have chosen the below conversation which is typically used by people

Person X: What are you doing?
Person Y: TimePass

God knows what people mean by this :-( , but as I started to thinking more on what people might mean when they use this. the below thoughts came to my mind,

1) It is an alternative to usage "Nothing of considerable importance"
2) There is some activity named "Timepass" which Person Y, is in the act of performing.
3) It is used as an alternative to usage "Something, I do not want to tell you"

probably there are more, but my interest lies with the Item 2. I think the absolute definition of the term is hidden within this phrase. Remember, my essay is about understanding the meaning of word, rather than what people mean by it and how people use it. This essay is about how people are supposed to use Timepass.

Let me try to dig deep into and try understand "act of performing Timepass".

hmmm..

my mind goes blank here.

Sorry.

Pretty difficult and deep subject I guess.

Since it is pretty obvious that, "Timepass" is formed by "Time" and "Pass", which are English words. I decided to play around with these words to arrive at the actual meaning of Timepass.

1) Passing of Time (as in throwing and passing it to friend.. Phew.. pretty weird!!! Rejected)
2) Passing on Time (as in riding on Time... hmmm.. doesn't make sense. Rejected)
3) Passing Time (As in overtaking time.. Rejected)
4) Passing with Time ( as in moving with Time, (Living Life!!!) )

STOP!!! This is it! To flare it up a bit, I can see the "Sun" formation behind my head, stars twinkling round the sun. etc..etc.. You are free to imagine :-) Pretty philosophical thought!! In the middle of the day, that too in office, of all the places under the sun. Hmmm...

"Act of performing Timepass" means "Act of living life".

In other words, Timepass encompasses all the activities people perform. For you techie guys, this means, Timepass is the super base class of all the activities in this universe.

Is there any practical significance to this? Have I gone mad? A term of Timepass can it have a relationship to profoundly philosophical term called "Living Life"? Do people not understand this yet?

I believe answer to all the questions is YES. (People do not worry, answer to second question is also yes, if you have not realized till now. I can't help you more. You also belong to my category!!!)

Any doubts, questions, comments regarding the definition. Feel free to write it to me, You will have your answers.

I think I owe you people a reason on why I chose this subject to write on. The reason and the story goes like this

One of my friends, calls me from a far off nation and says, "I have understood the secret of life". Important thing to note is, this friend of mine was under deep influence of philosophical chemicals (you know what!!!) working in his body. Most of the people in this world, would have had an heart attack hearing this I think. But Not Me!!! Do not worry, nothing great in me. It is just that I know how my friend can act under chemical influence. Anyways the conversation goes like below

chemical mind: Life is Timepass
Me: Hmmm.. how did you realise..
Chemical mind: Life is a Timepass
Me: Hmm... can you explain more please..
